First of all, thank you for showing interest in this year’s competitions. We are aware that we have not been too up to date with competitions on iScribble, so we have decided to put together two new ones with a bit more serious prizes.
We also hope that you have fun while creating your drawing(s), and look forward to seeing all the entries. Good luck!
The Duo Competition will run from March 1st until March 31st.
Community voting for the best drawings will take place April 1st until April 8th.
Starting time is March 1, 00:01 Central European Summer Time (UTC+2).
Ending time is March 31, 23:59 Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7).
The Individual Competition will run from April 1st until April 30th.
Judging will then take place, starting May 1st. There is no set date for when judging will be finished, but it will take less time than community voting.
Starting time is April 1, 00:01 Central European Summer Time (UTC+2).
Ending time is April 30, 23:59 Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7).
In order to claim a prize in the collaborative competition, you will need two users to contribute a minimum of 40% each.
If you are a Restricted User during and after the competition, you will automatically be promoted to a Regular User once the competition has come to an end.
How to start
First, you will need to create a new, private board. The board has to be created after the starting date(s) of the competition(s), and be published before the finishing date(s).
Which users can join?
All Restricted*, Regular and Power User are allowed to join - apart from those who have helped organize the event.
*NOTE: As Restricted Users have no way of publishing drawings or commenting, it is necessary that you contact either becky, Jonathan, Katrina or NJ. to have them publish your drawing for you - DO NOT ask anybody else to publish for you, in order to keep your drawing anonymous. You can contact them through whisper by typing /w username, and inviting them to your board with /invite username. Any questions/concerns regarding the competition should be whispered to them too.
How many drawings can I submit?
You may only submit one drawing to each competition. If you decide to participate in both competitions, this means that you can submit a maximum of two drawings. Users with multiple submissions per competition are disqualified.
Do not share your drawing(s) with anybody. You are not allowed to add any kind of special signature, character or logo that shows who the drawing belongs to. Do not keep a copy of the drawing in the gallery / your sketchbook. Doing this will get you disqualified.
We also suggest that you do not upload your drawing to any other website eg. DeviantART, before the competition ends.
All iScribble rules, terms and conditions apply to the competitions. Your drawing must be suitable for public display.
To publish a drawing for the competition, include one of the code words comp:collab or comp:individual (Depending on which competition you are entering it in) in the description like the following example. You can ignore the lower part of the publish dialog (fun doodle/category proposal, etc.). The participation list is not shown for these drawings.
Note: Your drawing must have been created after the competition started and must be published before the competition ends.
The winners in the Individual competition are all determined by the official judges. Drawings will be judged based on the following criteria;
Completeness: Drawing must be finished
Quality: Drawing quality should be comparable to other drawings in the gallery.
Regular Tools: Drawing should not be overly blurred or circled to the point where it is difficult to tell what is what. Quick blurring/circling does not equal effort. If a drawing looks good, though, this may be slightly overlooked.
Effort: There should be obvious effort in the drawing. The drawing time spent on an entry will be taken into account.
Originality: Drawing should be original - Come from the artist’s imagination, to at least some degree.
Keep in mind you are allowed to enter both competitions. Be aware that should you and your collab partner win the Duo Competition, and you wish to enter the Individual Competition afterwards, you will be competing for 2nd place, not 1st.
In the rare event that two entries gather the same amount of votes, the owner of iScribble.net will be the non-biased tie breaker.
We will be sending the prizes out once both competitions have come to a complete end, and delivery time may vary depending on where the items are being sent.
Drawings should be started on a clean board after the beginning of each competition date. Collab entries must be started after March 1st and individual entries must be started after April 1st.
